Parliament member Martin Bosma of the PVV (Party for Freedom) thinks Islam shouldn't be considered a religion. He said that in parliament on Thursday. "Islam is not a religion," according to Bosma.
The member of Geert Wilders' party made his statement in a debate about religious education. In it he agreed that religion is an important subject which should be discussed in elementary school. According to Bosma that doesn't hold for Islam, which he doesn't see as a religion. The PVV members didn't say in the debate what Islam is then.
Earlier party head Wilders did give an indication to that. In the HP/De Tijd magazine he said a year ago that "Islam is more an ideology than a religion."

Great! Now if we can only get some politicians here in the USA to courageously say the same thing.
They ould easily call Islam a "poligion," a political religion based on orthopraxy rather than orthodoxy. That makes Islam hardly more than a deep theatrical skit played through life for the benefit of social adjustment among the unthinking.
The etymology of religion, "binding," is the same in meaning as the etymology of "fascism." Some binding of the communion of souls is a transcendent moral play; some is a jihad waged by a politically motivated totalitarian polity.
The jihadi apologist above should really be promoting a return to teaching Latin; but he's a jihadi. Nothing more to it than that.
