Sweden: Law against teaching, recruiting for terrorism
A new law will be introduced to make it illegal to encourage, educate and recruit people to carry out terrorist crimes. With this legislation, the Swedish Government wants to bring Swedish law in line with the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism and the Eu's Framework Decision on combating terrorism.
To encourage or to recruit someone to carry out serious crimes is already illegal in Sweden, but the new law is supposed to emphasise the seriousness of terrorist crimes. It also makes it illegal to in Sweden encourage someone to commit a crime abroad.
