Netherlands: Demand for clarifications regarding Turkish conference

The CDA (Dutch Christian-Democrats) want clarification on reports that the Turkish government is trying to influence Turkish politicians in Europe. Dutch parliament member Mirjam Sterk of this party thinks such interference is undesirable.
About 1,500 Turkish politicians attended a conference in Istanbul last month, which was paid for by the Turkish government. According to Germany weekly Der Spiegel, Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged them not to integrate in the land where they live, but rather to be politically active.
The CDA wants to know from outgoing ministers Eimert van Middelkoop (Integration) and Maxime Verhagen (Foreign Affairs) whether (Turkish-)Dutch politicians were also involved. Sterk wants the politicians to tell the Turkish authorities that interference is not wanted.
