A new survey, this time by the research firm Onderzoek en Statistiek shows that Dutch immigrants are not going to go to the polls in the upcoming local elections. Only 20-25% of Amsterdam Moroccans intend to go vote while by the Turks this figure goes up to 30%. This is much less than the recent survey that showed almost half of the immigrants will go to vote.
The main reason, according to the researchers is that immigrants are usually less educated and the less educated tend to vote less. Also, as there aren't more immigrant candidates, there's no push to go vote.
The final survey: in the voting booth.
