The number of Utrecht immigrant students starting secondary education who feel Dutch has gone up from 18% to 34% in the 2006/2007 school year, compared with the 2004/2005 school year.
The number of immigrant students who speak mostly Dutch at home has gone up from 52% to 58%. These are interim results of the Utrecht Youth Monitor from 2007.
2177 Utrecht students are interviewed for the youth monitor. The Utrecht Municipality runs the study once every two years. The youth monitor contains information about the welfare of Utrecht youth. The municipality will develop a new policy based on it.
