Denmark: Winner of the Miss Headscarf 2008 competition

The winner of DR's Miss Headscarf 2008 competition is Huda Falah (18) from Gentofte. Falah was born in Iraq and has been wearing a headscarf since she was 9. She says it was her own choice, as she saw her mother and cousins wearing the headscarf.

Her reason for wearing a headscarf today: women are like diamonds, and a diamond isn't displayed to everybody. She signed up to the competition since she thinks there's a barrier between Muslim and Danish youth, and saw the competition as a way of breaking it down.

She's currently learning social work and health care.

Fashion expert Uffe Burchardt wrote that it's a fantastic and shocking color (big summer trend) which shows attitude and penetration. It's beautifully draped on her breast. Perfect style, which almost imitates a little work of art.

Muslim fashion blogger Helen Latifi writes that the royal blue headscarf is a lovely contrast to her dark brown colors. She looks deep, reflecting and strong. Her beauty is hidden. The headscarf demonstrates reflection and inner calm.

For the other winners, see the skum site.
