A Dutch political party based on Islamic foundations is currently being established by the name Islamistich Democratische partij (Islamic Democratic party, IDP). A statement by the IDP says the are "a true Dutch political party." They subscribe to the Dutch democratic principles and recognize the constitution.
The IPD says they will start by "being able to politically retort against the continuous anti-Islamic voices, especially from the side of PVV leader Geert Wilders." On the long term they pursue to adapt legislation to Islamic norms and values, through political means. According to the IDP there's a big political vacuum since a million Dutch Muslims can't vote for for an Islamic oriented party. The IDP wants to give this electorate a political voice. Though, the Islam Democraten (Islam Democrats, ID) have taken part in the last elections.

Update:
Apparently this is a hoax. The party's program is copied over from the Political Reformed Party's program. The Political Reformed Party (SGP) is a protestant party which wants to have a state based on the Bible.
The IDP's domain name is registered through a proxy, and nobody knows who are the supposed leaders of the party.

I find it slightly illogical to call an Islamic Political Party "Democratic" since Islam has no interest in democracy?

Muslims will use the democratic process in tha same way that all fascist parties use it. They will claim they believe in democracy and support popular votes. Once they are elected there will be an outbreak of riots and they will institute a dictatorship to prevent anarchy in the country.

The fact remains. Islam and democracy are two words that do not fit together well, whereas 'Islam' 'theocracy' are a natural fit. They are the same. You see, 'democracy' is predicated on freedom of choice.

It makes one wonder how any Muslim who wants peace can honestly be Muslims. 'Peaceful Muslim' is a bit of an oxymoron (whereas 'Peaceful non-practicing Muslim' is plausible) It must be fear for their lives that keeps the peaceful 'muslims' claiming they are muslim.
The Koran sanctions violence against the infidel. Pick up a newspaper on any given day and you can get the update on Islam's bloody borders. The Philippines, Thailand, Sudan, Somolia, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, Iran..... violence, violence, violence. We Islam's respect for different viewpoints displayed to us on a daily basis.
That's all a free-born westerner really needs to know about Islam and Democracy. All the rest is little more than an exercise in obfuscation and denial - and emphatic efforts to restrict the freedom of speech so essential to the democratic process and individual liberty.

Democracy itself has no interest in democracy. you have an imposed capitalist ideology with an elected leadership. very different. Funny enough the caliph is elected to position, but he can be deposed as soon as he is seen to be ruling by laws of filth like for example, allowing women to sell themselves for money.
