Amsterdam: Moroccan/Turkish children run risk of being overweight

Amsterdam children of Turkish or Moroccan background have a bigger chance of being overweight, according to a large-scale study by GGD, VU and AMC among 8,000 Amsterdam children ages 0-5.

According to the researchers, the primary reason for this is that kids get too much to eat already in their first year and that their mothers often don't take folic acid during pregnancy.
