Denmark: Immigrants fear (East European) immigration

According to a survey Catinet Research prepared for Ugebrevet A4 magazine, half the immigrants fear the influx of Eastern European workers will destroy their opportunities in the job market. Only a fifth reject fears that Easter European workers will make it harder for people who are not ethnic Danes to get or keep a job.

58% of the respondents said it's unfortunate that politicians try to attract more workers from abroad when not all the immigrants at home have a job.

Job market researcher Anders Ejrnæs thinks that the fears of immigrants are justified. He says that the East Europeans only get a residence permit if they're working and therefore there's a fear that they will accept conditions that are worse than those the 'old' immigrants can accept.
