An 8-story office building in the Ernst-Reuter-Platz in Berlin requires renters to accept Muslim regulations.
German newspaper Bild published this week that a clause in the rental contract stipulates that selling and producing alcohol and pork is banned in the building, as is interest.
Rüdiger Thräne, managers of the real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle, says theres' nothing unusual about it. He confirms such a clause exists, but says that 'among Arab investors, a rental contract conforming to Sharia is not unusual."
Thräne says that nobody would have been interested in the rental contact if there wouldn't already have been a debate about Muslim immigration.
