Amsterdam: Police get discount on Koran

Amsterdam police agents can get a discount on the Koran translation of author Kader Abdolah. According to a spokesperson of the police corps they will be encouraged in this way to read the Muslim holy book and get a better insight into Islam.

A police agent recently suggested the idea to the corps heads who decided to offer a discount on the book. The spokesperson stresses that this offer is free of obligations and that agents are not obligated to read the book.

The book of the Iranian-Dutch author appeared at the end of last month by De Geus publishers. Abdolah said that he translated the Koran in order to make it accessible for Dutch people.
