Gouda: Special transport for elderly, immigrant women
Immigrant elderly women in Gouda have recently gotten their 'own' custom bus to their day-center and to the Korte Akkeren health-care center in Gouda.
"It's necessary because a number of elderly immigrant women can't tell time and therefore missed their bus. Additionally, many women can't be picked up by a man due to their home situation," says Moustapha El Baroudi, spokesperson for Zorgberaad Midden-Holland that bought the bus.
"We assume that everybody can tell time, but that is not so. Elderly immigrant women have always worked in and around the house and didn't bother with things like telling time."
