Study: Conflicts over Mosques in Europe

The Network of European Foundations published a new study: Conflicts over Mosques in Europe (PDF), by Stefano Allievi.

Allievi prepared a chart of the estimated number of mosques in Europe (click the image to enlarge):

It's interesting to note that the Netherlands seems to be the one with the most purpose-built mosques (aside from Bosnia). Far more than Italy and Spain, which are estimated to have about the same number of Muslims, and proportionally more than the highest estimate for the UK.

The NEFIC published two additional studies, which deal with religions in general, and bring up issues also related to Islam: Religion and Healthcare in the European Union (PDF), by Dimitrina Petrova and Teaching about Religions in European School Systems (PDF), by Luce Pépin
