France, Netherlands, Germany: Terrorism finance arrests

Ten people were arrested in France, Germany and the Netherlands Friday on suspicion of financial support to terrorism. Eight people were arrested France, one in the Netherlands, and one in Germany.

In the Netherlands, a 48 year old Turk was arrested Friday in Tilburg, on suspicion of being involved in financing terrorism, according to the public prosecution.

France has asked for the extradition of the suspect. The arrest was made due to a French investigation.

The French police and intelligence services had investigated over the past months money collectors of the Islamist Turkish movement Kaplan. The suspect who lives in Tilburg probably collected the money.

The national criminal investigative department searched three more residences this morning and confiscated computers, administration, telephones, weapon cartridges and possibly a gas gun.
