Netherlands: Less students in Islamic schools

Based on data from the ministry of education, the number of students in Islamic schools has gone down for the first time in the 2006/2007 school year. The number of students decreased by 5%.

Schools which in recent times appeared badly in the news especially have less students. The Islamic College of Amsterdam (Islamitisch College Amsterdam, ICA) had 15% less students in the past year than the year before. In 2006 the education inspection said that the education in the school wasn't good. The Trouw newspaper wrote it was the worst school in Dutch secondary education
