Liege: 15 months for racist attack

The Leige court (Belgium) sentenced two men to a 15 month prison sentence for racist aggression. The men had attacked two girls in Leige. Two others were also sentenced for other racist actions.

The incident occurred in February, 2008. Three men threw a bottle at two young girls of Arab origin. Two of the men also expressed themselves in a racist manner. After a response from the victims, one of the man held a gun to the head of one of the girl. The other girl was beaten up.

The police arrested the three men, since the girls managed to follow the three and inform the police. The men were also found guilty for threatening and hitting a cafe boss and his foreign porter, as well as doing the Nazi salute, on March 31, 2007.

The two chief suspects, both recidivists, got 15 months and a fine of 550 euro. The third got a year in prison, half of which is deferred. A fourth man got three months, half of which is deferred.
