According to a study in Belgium, both girls and boys in the Moroccan-Belgian community preferred a partner from Morocco over a fellow 2nd generation immigrant. The boys because they wanted a subservient traditional girl, and the girls because they didn't want a boy who wanted a subservient traditional girl.

According to this radio show, this is not the case in the UK.
