Russia: Explosion derails freight train

Update: Russian officials see all these small attacks, as part of one organized offensive.

I don't always post about such failed terrorism attempts (there are too many), but in this case, it's the third attack in the region in as many days, following the Moscow attack less than a week ago.

An explosive device placed on a railway line derailed a goods train early Sunday in the troubled North Caucasus region of Dagestan, Russian news agencies reported.

"At 4:05 am (0005 GMT), there was an explosion on the tracks near the village of Pervomaiskoye, derailing eight carriages of a goods train," a source in the region's security
services told the Interfax news agency.

"There were no injured or dead," the source told Interfax.
