Obama: Europe should accept more refugees

In his "Turning the Page in Iraq" speech more than a year ago, Barack Obama mentioned that he expects the coalition partners to take in more refugees:

It's also time to go to our friends and allies - and all the members of our original coalition in Iraq - to find homes for the many Iraqis who are in desperate need of asylum.

This can also be found in a PDF on his site:

Coalition partners such as Great Britain, Australia, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Japan have done woefully little to meet the refugee crisis, and must be encouraged to do more.

Now it's getting attention in Denmark.

Somebody needs to tell Obama that the Iraq war is over. Al Qaeda has been defeated there. Rival factions have formed a functioning government. The Coalition gave Iraqis their freedom, their country and a future free of megalomaniac tyrant rulers. That is a monumental gift.

There is no justification for war refugee status for anyone leaving Iraq.

This does not surprise me. I expect someone who believes that the war was a mistake in the first place to spread the resulting problems around as much as possible.

This is a self fulfilling prophecy. Spread the pain around so we can all see what a bad idea the war was. That'll teach us. We got rid of an anti-Islamist, a counter weight to Iran, and boosted the Jihadi view of the world, and let Al Qaeda set up operation in Somalia and Pakistan, and the Taliban are on their way to winning in Afghanistan. What a Fu"" up.

Obama is still the President Elect. Are any of you focusing on the mess the current President has made, is making, will make before January? Obama can't possibly clean up the mess Stoopie McFuckwit made before he even gets into office.

Sorry Obama, but we've already got an immigration problem without Iraqi refugees.
Hows about trying to get the Iraqis to help rebuild their country instead, afterall, it'd be a waste after all of that blood and treasure we've spent there, if you were just to allow the knuckledraggers to take over again.

andrew, what country are you in?

If it's the US the govt is well aware of the "immigration problem" and has no problem accepting money from made-up SS #s because it means they don't have to try to collect $ from tax cheating corporate monoliths. Social Security would be solvent for the next 30 years, even with massive amounts of people retiring if the goddamned corporations would just pay their fucking taxes. They don't.

What country am I in? The UK. This article is about Europe, which as I'm sure you're aware, the UK is - unfortunately - part of.
