Denmark: Judges can be veiled

There is no valid demand that female judge should shake hands with colleagues or show their hair, says the president of the Danish Supreme Court, Torben Melchior.

It will benefit integration and the judiciary. Judges and advocates should be recruited from as wide a spectrum as possible so they don't all have the same background and opinions.

Melchoir denies that the veil is in conflict with the regulations for judge's clothing. He also thinks that it's not a problem if a female judge refused to shake hands, saying it's as meaningless as a judge having red hair. The necessary professional qualifications, he says, are the only thing that matters.

He also rejects that it is relevant to have an opinion if a woman is oppressed because she is veiled as he says there are men and women without a veil who are oppressed.

This sounds like a typical dhimmi, clueless about the true meaning of the veil in Islam.

I don't see any dhimmitude anywhere. Have you seen it? I seemed to have lost it somewhere
