UK: British Muslims helping Taliban

British Muslims are helping the Taliban in their war against UK soldiers in southern Afghanistan, according to the former commander of Britain's forces in Afghanistan.

Brig. Ed Butler, who spent six months commanding British forces in Afghanistan, also revealed fears that militant Islamic groups in south-east Asia are supporting terrorist plots in the UK.

The brigadier, a former head of the SAS, spoke exclusively to the Daily Telegraph in the week when the British death toll in Afghanistan reached 114, with 17 fatalities in the last two months.

UK forces have uncovered evidence that British Muslims are actively supporting the Taliban and al-Qa'eda in attacks on coalition forces in southern Afghanistan, Brig Butler said.

He said: "There are British passport holders who live in the U.K. who are being found in places like Kandahar."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that RAF Nimrod spyplanes monitoring Taliban radio signals in Afghanistan had heard militants speaking with Yorkshire and Midlands accents.

Privately, British officers in Afghanistan estimate that several thousand Taliban fighters have been killed since 2006, among them people from outside the country.

One officer said: "While my troops have not actually found British passports on enemy dead there has been a suspicion that with the high number of Taliban casualties they have needed to recruit a lot of foreign fighters and some of these are likely to be of British-Muslim descent."

Disturbingly, Brig Butler suggested the traffic between Britain and Afghanistan may flow in both directions, with some British Muslims returning from the region and posing a domestic security threat.

Brig Butler, 46, said he had seen evidence that terror groups based in southern Afghanistan were plotting with Muslim extremists in Britain to carry out terror attacks in the UK.

I don't understand how this is news. Muslims as a matter of principle support the Taliban, which, by the way, while incredibly unsavory, is not the root of all evil. It's arguably the best thing to have happened to Afghanistan in the last 1000 years before we showed up in 2001: . It's not even really the Taliban that supports the terror networks so much as it's the native Pashtun hospitality which forbids them to oust anyone with whom they have had tea. Seriously. It's also the difficult terrain of Afghanistan which is hard to traverse and full of caves and underground tunnels which provides safe haven to terrorists. Al Qaeda took advantage of the Pashtuns and the geography, not the Taliban.

But Muslims do typically support the Taliban, at least in theory, in that the vast majority of them love the idea of Islamic paradises like Afghanistan. The whole point of Islam is to turn the whole world into either an Afghanistan, an Iran, or a Saudi Arabia, united under the cloak of the Ummah. Whether or not they would choose, as individuals, to live in an Islamic paradise may be a different story, but then again it's impossible to be a Muslim without being a narcissist and a hypocrite. You just have be a naracissistic hypocrite in order to divide the world into Muslim/kuffar, Dar-al-Hard/Dar-al-Islam, and even male/female the way Islam does - to think in that dualistic manner in which people are so structurally different and in which some are so incredibly ENTITLED and others are slaves at best.

Hamas, Hizbullah, Al Qaeda, the Taliban (while not a terror network), and the local sleeper cells are where the majority of that zakat money goes. Then mosques beg the government for assistance for maintenance and repairs while they funnel all that money. Read "Alms for Jihad." The Saudis had it banned, but it's available on isohunt. Alarming stuff, since the Muslim Brotherhood really is the only Islamic "charity" ever, and, while they did carry out many charitable works, they are also the mother organization for Hamas, Al Qaeda, CAIR, CAAR, the Muslim Students Association, and Muslim Student Union, none of which, btw, signed the Universal Declaration Against Genocide.

Jihad is Islamic "morality." These "soldiers" are putting their money where their mouth is. Why that is surprising is beyond me.
